Help With Google Ads For Solicitors?

Paid advertising doesn’t work, you say to yourself.

You had decided that it was about time that you finally tested Google Ads, or Pay Per Click, to see whether it really was as good as people said.

Google Ads For Solicitors

You set up your campaign, you spent a few hundred pounds a month for the next few months, even a few thousand pounds, but you didn’t notice any real difference in terms of your telephone ringing, or more importantly, new instructions.

What happened?

Did it just confirm your thoughts that this sort of marketing just isn’t for you, or did you feel that there were some signs of encouragement, but that you just didn’t quite know how you were supposed to do it to make it effective?

The most common reasons that Google Ads fails are these:

  • Using ‘broad match’ search terms, which means that you attract very lowly qualified traffic, often at a high cost. One legal client spend a few hundred pounds with Ads one month on people looking for answers for crossword clues because he was using broad match – really!;
  • Failure to send the visitors to the right pages on your website (this is usually the biggest killer); and
  • Having too many keywords in each Ad Group.

Each one of these things when fixed can turn a failing campaign into a winning one.

I recently took over a campaign for a client called Jim, and he had been unsuccessfully running it for nearly 12 months. This is what he said after I had revamped his campaign and got it working nicely:

“I have been using Ads for a year with no results, but as soon as Nick Jervis took over the campaigns we started getting calls and winning new clients.”

If you have had a similar problem, please don’t give up on Google Ads for marketing your solicitors practice; instead let me show you where you are going wrong, and perhaps more importantly, how to fix it.

Law Firm Marketing

Claire Johnson

Nick is a fountain of knowledge, tried and tested personally. He has that rare gift of not making you feel daft for asking any question. After our consultation I felt far less like a rabbit in the headlights and far more empowered to climb the marketing mountain successfully.

Chris Rennie

Nick takes a no-nonsense approach, cuts the fluff and gets straight to the point – which is an approach that you see very little nowadays in the world of marketing where you have many gurus with complex approach that most probably never work. I look forward to working with Nick.

Michael Birch

Less than a year ago I asked Nick to help me grow our practice by making the telephone ring.

He’s certainly done that and much more.

The improvements are incredible and Nick has guided me through the many challenges of scaling up, not least the need for a client focused approach.

This has allowed me to start the next phase; organising the practice to ensure a better lifestyle balance for all of us, whilst we continue to grow.

Emerson Scotland

Brilliant, insightful and a great discussion. Nick certainly knows his stuff and makes you feel at ease.

Vinay Tanna

As a medium sized Law Firm we have been dealing with Nick for a good few years now – his assistance and support delivered in a friendly but professional way has been invaluable; added to this, coming from a legal background he has a firm understanding of what solicitors require.

At our initial meeting with Nick he advised on various marketing strategies including simple changes to our website that would enhance traffic to the site.

We are now working on a new marketing project and know, as always, we are in safe hands.
